We are delighted that Jean Sampson has agreed to talk to the group.

Jean Sampson, along with Alison Finnieston and their wonderful volunteers have spent many hours at MWA building the first ever GIREL woodburning kiln in the UK. It is a much more sustainable way of wood firing that uses less than 25% of the amount of wood and significantly reduce greenhouse  gases. It's a significant achievement and has been a voyage of discovery for Jean who is an accomplished ceramicist, teacher and just completed her MA.

The project has been funded by a grant from,Powys Church Acts and Jean's stallwart efforts at Crowdfunding.
Jean will describe her journey, her practice, discuss re-entering art education and go on to discuss whether the artist can be replaced by a machine. What do you think?
