Silversmithing Workshop

At this workshop you will make a silver pendant of your choice to take home at the end of the day.

Suitable for absolute beginners to attendees with some prior experience who may wish to build upon the skills they already have.

Sorrel will provide a 30 x 30mm piece of silver which you can then texture, dome, make it into a circle or other shape.

Each attendee could choose to cut patterns out of the silver using a piercing saw then they could use those cut out pieces to melt or reshape / texture, then add them to their design by soldering them on.

Each pendant would then be finished on a silver trace chain up to 20" long.

All materials are included in the price of this workshop.

If you usually wear glasses for close-up work please be sure to bring them with you! You may also wish to bring an apron / wear work clothes as silversmithing can be a messy job!

About the tutor: Sorrel Sevier is living and working in Mid Wales and started Sorrel Sevier Handmade Jewellery business in 2011, originally making beaded costume jewellery. It wasn’t long however, before she discovered a love of silversmithing and the joy of creating her own designs from scratch. She works mostly with sterling silver, occasionally gold and likes to use copper to compliment the silver on some designs.
