Mumma Moon delivered

We have had a new sculpture delivered to Mid Wales Arts this week by Gemma Hughes

Tomorrow (Friday 1 May) 6.23pm

“I have made several versions of my Moon-in-a-Box , and this one happens to be the ‘middle sized’ one to date , so was affectionately called ‘Mumma’ for short. 

In nice bit of synchronicity, the arrival of Mumma Moon coincides with the first of May’s full moons : tomorrow (Friday 1 May ) at 6:23pm.  She is sometimes called ‘Mother’s Moon’ because of the abundance of new growth and new life at this peak period of springtime. 

May is the only month this year which has 2 full moons in it. The next is on 31 May at 9:45 am and is known as a ‘Blue’ moon”      Gemma Hughes
